	The Greek frigate Salamis (F-455) (Greek: Φ/Γ ΣΑΛΑΜΙΣ) is the fourth ship of the Greek Hydra frigate class. It is based on the Blohm + Voss MEKO 200 frigate class and was built by Hellenic Shipyards Co. at Skaramagas. It is the third ship of the Hellenic Navy to be named after Salamis Island and the famous Battle of Salamis, the first being the uncompleted dreadnought Salamis.
</p>

<p>
	This is a freeware package. The  basic 3D model was developed by me many -many- years ago. I have borrowed the bridge and some textures from Jason Simpson's ANZAC MEKO (https://www.simpsonslipways.com/).
</p>

<p>
	Also I made good use of 3 crucial textures and a few 3d parts found in 3d warehouse(https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/1eb48ae4-64d6-43ed-97ee-c2c29b95e3d8/MEKO-200HN-HYDRA-HELLENIC-NAVY) in a HYDRA model made by the user Vangelis V.
</p>

<p>
	Other parts (i.e. the Phalanx were found from several open sources over the internet).
</p>

<p>
	This model cannot be sold as payware in any form. You can use it for your own entertainment only in Vehicle Simulator or Virtual Sailor NG.

	ROUSSEN Class Fast Attack Craft for Vehicle Simulator and Virtual Sailor NG. The Roussen class is a seven-strong class of British-designed fast attack missile boats improved and customized for the Hellenic Navy, also known as Super Vita. The class is named after its lead ship, which in turn is named after Lt Nikolaos Roussen, a World War II submarines officer who was killed in the suppression of the Navy mutiny in April 1944.
</p>

<p>
	This boat has properties. The ship bears an animated Hellenic Navy flag and carries two rotating radars. The bow and aft flagpoles are animated and they can be lowered or raised with Ctrl-A.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	This boat carries 4 EXOCET missiles  (2 on each side) that can lock on targets and be fired. <br />
	Just make sure that prior to the missile launch your target ship is in your beam port or starboard, with a relative bearing 65 degrees up to 115 degrees off your bow. <br />
	You can fire the missiles from the weapons panel or by bringing up the HUD (Shift-H) so that you can hear the lock on sound.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	The OTO MELARA 76/62 gun is also playable and loaded with real life data (inside the weapon.cfg).<br />
	Finaly the RAM launcher is also functional. Just point the turret to the target, lock on and shoot. <br />
	I have not included a panel yet, but I plan to make one in the future.

	The Douglas SBD Dauntless is a World War II American naval scout plane and dive bomber that was manufactured by Douglas Aircraft from 1940 through 1944. The SBD ("Scout Bomber Douglas") was the United States Navy's main carrier-based scout/dive bomber from mid-1940 through mid-1944. The SBD was also flown by the United States Marine Corps, both from land air bases and aircraft carriers. The SBD is best remembered as the bomber that delivered the fatal blows to the Japanese carriers at the Battle of Midway in June 1942. The type earned its nickname "Slow But Deadly" (from its SBD initials) during this period.
</p>

<p>
	This plane has elements which contain realistic data and characteristics. The default weapons load contains 2xBrowning 0.50 calibre guns at front and a rear 0.30 Browning gun. Two standard bombs are also loaded under the wings.

<p>
	The Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" is a long-range fighter aircraft formerly manufactured by Mitsubishi Aircraft Company, a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy from 1940 to 1945.
</p>

<p>
	The Zero is considered to have been the most capable carrier-based fighter in the world when it was introduced early in World War II, combining excellent maneuverability and very long range.
</p>

<p>
	In early combat operations, the Zero gained a reputation as a dogfighter, achieving an outstanding kill ratio of 12 to 1, but by mid-1942 a combination of new tactics and the introduction of better equipment enabled Allied pilots to engage the Zero on generally equal terms.
</p>

<p>
	During the final phases, it was also adapted for use in kamikaze operations.
</p>

<p>
	This plane has elements which contain realistic data and characteristics. Its engine has the specs of a "Sakae 21" engine. The default weapons load contains only guns but inside the Weapons directory you will fibd 2 types of bombs: a 60 kg (2 x underneath wings) and a 250 kg (underneath fuselage) . So you can make your own weapons load configuration by altering the [weapons_num] settings and weapons priority inside the "stores.cfg" file.
</p>

<p>
	The plane comes with a sitting japanese pilot and it also contains a functional instruments panel. The panel bears a partial similarity with the real one. It mainly uses default VSF instruments with the addition of 3 user made ones.
</p>

<p>
	As a horn it uses a "banzai cry" sound (works well in scripts).
</p>

<p>
	Moving parts:     <br />
	        Canopy --&gt; slide open/close with Ctrl-C<br />
	        Main Gear --&gt; up/down with G<br />
	        Folding Wings --&gt; fold/unfold with Ctrl-F<br />
	        Arresting Hook --&gt; up/down with C<br />
	        Instruments --&gt; stick, throttle, pedals, gear, flaps
</p>

<p>
	EXTRA!!!
</p>

<p>
	The vehicle folder contains a "Kamikaze" subfolder. There you can find all the necessary files to create another vehicle for kamikaze missions. It contains a "stores.cfg" file with only the 250 Kg bomb, a modified version of "broken.x" a "vehicle.cfg" with no pilot and MOST IMPORTANTLY a script file named "kamikaze.txt".
</p>

<p>
	How to make a kamikaze: <br />
	    a. Create a new vehicle folder inside the "vehicles" directory (you name it as you like i.e. "A6M_Kamikaze"). <br />
	    b. Copy all the content from the A6M2_Zero folder into your new folder.<br />
	    c. Copy the files (minus kamikaze.txt) from Kamikaze subfolder to your new vehicle folder (replace existing).<br />
	    d. Copy "kamikaze.txt" file into the "Vehicle Simulator/scripts" folder.<br />
	    e. Open VSF game and create a new scenario with a surface ship of your choice in the VSF world. <br />
	    f. Add the A6M_Kamikaze plane inside 10 nm radius from the ship (preferably above 3000 feet).<br />
	    g. Load the plane with kamikaze.txt and... choose your viewing point as the plane transforms into a kamikaze suicidal bomber!<br />
	    h. Alternatively you can use the "kamikaze_situation.txt" (copy into situations folder) with HMS_Hood and A6M_Kamikaze vehicles preset.  <br />
	 <br />
	Enjoy!

<p>
	Admiral Graf Spee was a Deutschland-class "Panzerschiff" (armored ship), nicknamed a "pocket battleship" by the British, which served with the Kriegsmarine of Nazi Germany during World War II. The two sister-ships of her class, Deutschland and Admiral Scheer, were reclassified as heavy cruisers in 1940.
</p>

<p>
	The ship was nominally under the 10,000 long tons (10,000 t) limitation on warship size imposed by the Treaty of Versailles, though with a full load displacement of 16,020 long tons (16,280 t), she significantly exceeded it. Armed with six 28 cm (11 in) guns in two triple gun turrets, Admiral Graf Spee and her sisters were designed to outgun any cruiser fast enough to catch them. Their top speed of 28 knots (52 km/h; 32 mph) left only the few battlecruisers in the Anglo-French navies fast enough and powerful enough to sink them.
</p>

<p>
	The boat features an animated Kriegsmarine (WW-II) flag and she is capable of firing both her triple 11 inch gun turrets. You can lower and raise the bow and aft flagpoles with Ctrl-D.

Royal Navy ships of this class were named after flowers, hence the name of the class.
</p>

<p>
	Several ships were transferred to other navies. Four of them ere transferred to the Royal Hellenic Navy. Inside this package you can find pennant number for RHS Tompazis.
